What is a discordant alignment?

By default, bowtie2 looks for discordant alignments if it cannot find any concordant alignments.
Concordant alignments are those which satisfy the mapping constraints.
Discordant alignments are those which don't. But they are still uniquely mapped.

New phishing email targeting Caltech students: Login Error Detected IN0006782

This type of email again comes from a random email address with another email address as sender name to look like system administrator. A suspicious link provided and a strange department name(IT Service Alert Desk) they created added to the ridiculousness of this type of email.

[Pokemon GO] Did I catch something rare? Pokemon rarity distribution and frequency counts

Everyone knows that a pidgey can be found everywhere while a charizard is not so common. But what's a more quantitative way to see how lucky you are when you see, say, an Abra or Haunter?

Here are the big data results (averaging all the places over the world, including coastal and non-coastal):

1. Overall, the rarity distribution is very uneven:
1.1 You catch a pidgey for every eight pokemons you come across
1.2 The top 9 abundant pokemons make up half of all the pokemons you see. In other words, half of your effort is actually dealing with the 9 most annoying pokemons you're tired of.

2. These are the detailed percentages:
Based on their rarity, I divide them into 6 levels, with the most abundant group as Level 1 and the rarest group as Level 6. Below are the charts:

Level 6: those off the list (because our monitor cannot detect them frequent enough to estimate their probability)

Here is the full list with percentages of occurrence among all the pokemons. Ctrl + F / Command + F to find your favorite pokemon's score!

[solved] mysterious payment/credit card fraud from showpmt.com. what's that charge and how to cancel

If you noticed that your credit card activity history has something mentioning showpmt.com like , you'd be careful:

I was charged a total of $39.99 from my checking account for no apparent reason by CHECKCARD 02/11 SHOWPMT.COM 8772151910

Usually the payment is under $100 but still it's a fraud, and a possible cause is you registered for some membership and provided them with your credit card information including the three digit number you have on the back of your card.

Solution:
1.Go to Showpmt.com
2.click membership ( manage your membership)
3. type your partial credit card information and cancel
Usually these should be enough
But to be safe you'd better request a replacement of your credit card by calling your credit card company

Tricks you should learn:
When asked for credit card information, never provide full information. If they ask you for full information, be alerted, and provide WRONG expire data or 3-digit code. If they are not legal chargers, they wouldn't know that your information provided was wrong. (I've tested some websites' fraud credit card signup by typing incorrect expire date. Registration was successful and my credit card was not charged.)

Take care

Mr. Mime's home town is Madrid, Spain (Not London nor Paris nor Barcelona)
Kangaskhan is, of course, Australian, probably from Woollahra
Farfetch'd comes from Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong
