I purchased tickets from Priceline to fly with Virgin Atlantic and wanted to cancel my outbound flight. However, the prices they offer for rebooking is crazily high ($2000 - $8000 from Virgin Atlantic) and they require rebooking with the same company.
The fix: the prices on their website turns out to be not that high when you book round trip. So if you need a one-way ticket, just buy a round-trip and don't show up for the return flight.
