If you noticed that your credit card activity history has something mentioning showpmt.com like
these people, you'd be careful:
I was charged a total of $39.99 from my checking account for no apparent reason by CHECKCARD 02/11 SHOWPMT.COM 8772151910
posted 02/12/2014 by Joshua Montecino
Usually the payment is under $100 but still it's a fraud, and a possible cause is you registered for some membership and provided them with your credit card information including the three digit number you have on the back of your card.
Solution:
1.Go to Showpmt.com
2.click membership ( manage your membership)
3. type your partial credit card information and cancel
Usually these should be enough
But to be safe you'd better request a replacement of your credit card by calling your credit card company
Tricks you should learn:
When asked for credit card information, never provide full information. If they ask you for full information, be alerted, and provide WRONG expire data or 3-digit code. If they are not legal chargers, they wouldn't know that your information provided was wrong. (I've tested some websites' fraud credit card signup by typing incorrect expire date. Registration was successful and my credit card was not charged.)
Take care
